LARKWORTHY YURTS

One of the Larkworthy yurts Traditionally used by nomads on the Mongolian plains, the yurt is an attractive and novel tent; a wooden, rounded structure covered in canvas. It has a permanent, secure feel to it and is also aesthetically pleasing.

Yurt inside at night Our yurts are carpeted and mattresses are provided. There is a woodburner which can also be used for simple cooking. In the same field is a marquee with barbecue facilities and table and chairs. Toilet, shower and clothes washing facilities are at the house which is a few minutes walk.

A yurt in it's own space Each yurt stands on a wooden platform in it's own area of approx. one quarter of an acre. Our 12ft yurt holds 2-4 people. Our 16ft yurt holds 5-6 people comfortably.

The tono The "tono", shown here, is made of local oak, which forms the crown of the yurt. On a clear night one can lie in bed and watch the stars through the open crown. Rest assured, the yurts also have crown covers. The roof poles and walls are made from local coppiced hazel.
